Rhode Island Small Business Recovery

Recognizing that Rhode Island has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and that our economic recovery is anticipated to lag behind other states, a group of local leaders have collaboratively created the Rhode Island Small Business Recovery Program.
This comprehensive, zero-cost business training program is designed to move Rhode Islanders from unemployment to self-employment and increase the probability of success for existing businesses.

While this proposal is designed to reduce unemployment and speed recovery in the short-term; it is also designed to build a statewide cooperative and collaborative initiative that will continue to work together to bring long-term success to the Rhode Island small business community.

The Rhode Island Small Business Recovery Program is an integrated learning experience designed to drive customers to participants’ businesses and to greatly increase their probability of business success.  These free and paid programs are tailored for entrepreneurs and pre-entrepreneurs and are comprised of four complementary components:

1. Building Blocks for Success: extensive classroom studies expressly designed to enhance business growth and financial strength

2. Generating Internet to Income: monthly discussion groups designed to help monetize web activities

3. One-on-One Coaching: individual assistance in creating business plans, gaining access to capital, and individual coaching

4. Monthly Mastermind Meetings: interactive dialogue provides continuous improvement through peer support

These programs, designed to assist a range of individuals from the pre-entrepreneur to the more experienced business owner, are only possible because of the collaborative spirit of the following organizations and individuals.
